So today's post is going to be mainly positive! Can you believe it? It's definitely nice to feel things begin to look up. We do not have an answer on the house yet so that's not what this is going to be about but we had a few kind of cool things happen the last couple of days so I wanted to share.
Yesterday we were rushing around trying to get Little Miss over to our friend's who had offered to watch her for the morning, which in itself was SO nice! Our friend had just picked up her new puppy and still wanted to add the chaos of a toddler to her life for a bit so we were so thankful that she did that. On the way out, MH put some checks on the top of his car and forgot about them before driving away. Unfortunately, he didn't realize it until about 3 hours later. I was actually not feeling very well and was contemplating heading back to the apartment to lay down for a bit over my lunch hour so I decided to go ahead and leave work and see if I could find the checks somewhere in the garage. Well, I got there, looked everywhere in the garage, walked outside and up to the street and didn't find anything. This was not good news since some of the checks were temporary checks that had our account number on them. So I went ahead and headed upstairs to go lay down and when I opened the door, the checks were laying on the floor! Someone had found them and returned them to us! Now I know a lot of you aren't familiar with this neighborhood or even this city but an act of kindness like that was not expected. We were so relieved and got to take one worry off of our plates!
So speaking of which, as many of you probably already know, one of my favorite things in life are random acts of kindness. I'm not a big fan of Valentine's Day or other gift giving holidays because sometimes it starts to feel like obligation and I'd much rather have something given to me on some random day for no reason except that you were thinking of me. Well my Dad used to always do that when I was in college and when I went away to Florida but it had been quite a while since I had seen anything like that from him. In fact, our relationship has been somewhat strained over the last few years so the last thing I expected was the large package of very random stuff I got yesterday. My Dad and I used to try and find the most ridiculous cards we could find and send them to each other with some weird little trinket to go with it so in very "Dad" fashion, he sent a card that says "It's funny that when you see someone yawn, you yawn. But some people can't pee if someone is already peeing," and then inside the card it says "I love science" haha! He sent that with a puzzle (yay) and a GIANT jar of Jelly Belly's. It was just one of those great pick-me-up items and the fact that it came from my Dad meant SO much.
I don't want to leave this post without giving you details on the house and even though we still don't have an answer it's not all negative. We finally got the appraisal back and it came in exactly where it should be so that's good news. We called our relocation company and they are now all over our loan officer like white on rice because at this point everyone is so frustrated with the fact that we don't have a firm closing date yet. So what we hope all of that means is that we will hear something tomorrow and this time we mean it! The loan officer did say that if the underwriters come back with any conditions at this point, it could mean another two weeks until we close, which is just nuts but like I said, our relocation company is all over him to get this thing done so let's hope that works!
The only other thing that has happened in the last few days is that Little Miss started daycare today! I was having SUCH a hard time with it! I kept thinking that she's probably so confused and doesn't understand why we keep moving her around and I thought she might not do well with the other kids and about a million other thoughts that all pointed to me just being ridiculous. Of course she did great. She came home in such a good mood and was talking up a storm so my guess is that she's been missing having other kids to play with. By the way, the daycare has catered meals. I called over there today around lunch time to see how Little Miss was doing and the director told me they were getting ready to sit down for lunch and that they were having turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and cranberries! I was like "can I come over for lunch?" Anyway, it went well and she'll be going back there in a couple of weeks since my MIL is coming into town tomorrow and Little Miss will get to spend time with her instead of going to daycare.
Like I said in the last post - I'm hoping my next one will be telling you about our move in date! Talk to you all soon!
Positive Milwaukee Note: I've decided I am beginning to understand why people's accents are what they are out here. Have any of you seen the names of the cities out here? Wauwatosa, Oconomowoc, Mequon, Muskego, Mukwonago, Potowatomi! Of course people develop accents trying to pronounce them all! I'm working very hard not to but at least I'm getting tolerant. :-)

Yeay! I'm so glad you had a positive couple of days =) On the accent note, I visited MN/WI for 3 days and came back with a terrible accent that took weeks to get rid of. Love you!!!
