One More Week

Ok, so first off, I'm going to spruce up this blog with a little color! I didn't even know I could change the color of the font until I read the blog of my dear friend so I thought it would be fun to try something new! So in case you all haven't noticed, I'm not keeping up with writing these everyday but I am doing OK with writing them once a week so I'm going to keep working to get these up once a week. So if any of you are still reading these, just look for them a little less often. Well, Little Miss is very sick tonight. She's been throwing up for the last 3 hours and our best guess is that she might have a hopefully mild case of food poisoning. Poor thing. She's asleep now and we just keep checking on her every 15 minutes or so to see if she throws up again. Hopefully she'll stay asleep and her little tummy will make itself all better overnight.
My mother-in-law is in town and has been since last Wednesday and it's been nice to have some extra help. It would have been SO much help if everything would have worked out like we originally thought and we had closed on the house last week too but, it didn't so oh well. We've been spoiled by the MIL with hot breakfasts every morning and dinners that take more than 5 minutes to prepare and MH and I actually had two date nights! On Friday we got to see Avatar, finally, and it was so good! On Saturday we went out with friends for a sushi dinner (I didn't have sushi of course) and games. It was nice! On Sunday we went to Chicago and hung out with my MIL's cousins. They have a beautiful house in one of the nearby suburbs and we just relaxed and visited for a while. MH and I have never been to Chicago but didn't get a chance to go downtown to see the sights. It was chilly yesterday anyway but at least now we know some people down there that can show us around. We'll have to make sure we go back when it starts to warm up so we can walk around downtown.
In house news, on Friday our loan officer sent us a letter from the underwriters with conditions they needed to have met before we can get an approval for all of this. At first, I figured we were out for good. I read the list and it was asking for documentation that I didn't think we had any chance of getting. I was told before that if we needed to get into storage for any reason, it would cost $1000 just to get what we needed. Well, knowing that this documentation was sitting in a stupid little file cabinet that was in that storage unit was just infuriating because I knew we couldn't get to it. But, after taking a moment and thinking things over, we figured out a way to get what they were looking for through the companies they came from. We still don't know if that's going to be enough though. Our loan officer turned everything in today but also said that they could still come back wanting something else. I'm beginning to think the banks are not wanting people to buy houses anymore. If we had even a slightly better option to not buy, I think I would have given up a long time ago. This is just crazy! Knowing that buying homes is kind of a step in the right direction for our economy, you'd think that it'd be a little easier. I understand that they need to make sure people are able to afford homes and keep them but at this point, it's just discouraging. I really feel like they are trying to wear us down so that we back out! But, we keep getting them what they need so they aren't going to get to us! We've actually been told that it looks like we could close on Friday. I hope that happens! As usual, I'll let you know!!

Positive Milwaukee Note: Ok, so technically this isn't totally about Milwaukee but the fact that we are only about an hour drive from Chicago means we are only about an hour away from an Ikea! I'm hoping to get some fun stuff for the new house!
