Little Miss

Ok, so let's talk about what you all are REALLY reading this for, an update on the little munchkin. For internet purposes, I've decided we will call her Little Miss from here on out. For the soon to be munchkin, I'll have to come up with another name later. It's a personality thing and I wouldn't want to give him a nickname prematurely. So Little Miss is doing well. She is, as usual, growing like crazy and is really about the most adorable thing ever. I took a picture of her last night just so I could make sure and include a recent photo in this blog today.

She actually smiled for the camera, it was cute. She also ate all of her spaghetti, by herself, with minimal mess! It was great! Good thing she had a black shirt on, haha! It makes it seem like she had no mess at all! Then, after she was done, as usual she had to sit on my lap and finish my dinner as well. I tried to distract her with more pictures and she was a making great faces for the camera, if only I could have been faster at taking the picture. I did get this one though:

What a cutie pie. So anyway, I'm writing to let you know how she's doing and I haven't even gotten to it yet! She is adjusting fairly well. I think she really likes the apartment because she can roam around wherever she wants and since she is Little Miss Independent, she does well with that. On the other side of that though, she has been pretty clingy. I'm very worried about having to put her in daycare. The way things are going now, MH is able to stay home with her during the days but with a possible new job starting soon for him, we will inevitably have to get a sitter. Daycare is so stinking expensive and I'm really worried about putting her somewhere for only a brief amount of time and then having to switch again once we move. Not to mention, a full daycare is going to be a HUGE change for her. The most kids she's ever been around for long periods of time is I think 5. And we already know she is somewhat of a bully. Sigh. I've always been a big believer in daycare. I think it's a great social experience for kids and at most places, a great learning environment. I just think about the neighborhood I'm in right now at work and then I also think about the neighborhood where we live and I don't want her going to daycare anywhere near either place. I think one of my biggest problems is that I haven't ventured outside of my job and our apartment so I don't have a clue what else is around. I also don't know anyone at work that has kids in daycare. I talked to one lady that sends her child to a nanny but then you are talking major money! I don't even know how people can afford nannies! Don't get me wrong, they deserve the money, but it would be most of my paycheck to have one! In Colorado, we were so lucky to have one of my best friends watch her and then my grandma watched her so we haven't had to deal with any of this yet.
On the positive side, daycare could probably help Little Miss with her attitude since she will have to learn how to play with other kids and take direction and what-not. Right now, she knows she's the spoiled child that we've turned her into and even though she seems to be in trouble all of the time, it doesn't seem to sink in that if she behaved, she would get more of what she wants - so maybe a different atmosphere would help with that.
And maybe, just maybe, I have more of an issue with all of this than she ever will!! What do you think?

Positive Milwaukee Note: I met someone here that used to work at Disney! They completely agreed with me that no one talks to anyone here. I'm not weird! It's really true! So I'm excited to have another person around that likes to talk!

When we first moved to Dallas the daycares around our corporate housing were abysmal! Look somewhere that will be convenient to your permenant house (if you have ANY idea where that will be). And I agree, daycare is a great experience for little ones. Love you and miss you tons and tons!!
